Valencia RV Park
April Campout (April 20-23)

Ken & Karen Moody were the lead Wagon Masters, capably aided by Jerry & Kathi Tretter, and Joyce Claussen and Larry Mamchar. There were 12 rig sites and a motel room. Larry and Joyce are looking for a new RV. The weather was warm early on Thursday and Friday but hot, as it was at home, on Saturday.

Friday through Sunday our members enjoyed visiting the Reagan Library, the Cowboy Festival, the Antique Mall and the pool. Some did it all, in particular the convenience of Buzzy's Bar. Friday night dinner was an All-American feast with hot dogs and hamburgers served by our Wagon Master team. Following dinner our normal game of Skru-yer-neighbor was played with Cathy Van Bruggen the winner. In addition a game of Left-Right-Center (LRC) was also enjoyed and won by Terri Watkins.

The Saturday morning Pot Luck breakfast was the usual feast of excellent dishes and fun conversations. The Cowboy Festival in Newhall brought back memories of our past when we watched Gene Autry, the Lone Ranger and of course Roy Rodgers. After two consecutive men winning baseball competitions the Women's team edged the men's team. Rumors have it that two of the men's heavy hitters were not present due to nap time. Saturday night's dinner consisted of an excellent Pot Roast spread with all of the fixings. Following dinner members conducted our normal meeting and a visit by local law enforcement personnel. The Sherriff team of Margo Dobbs and Ken Moody ensured all transgressions were properly adjudicated and fines levied. The various donations from the Skru-yer-neighbor, Buzzy's Bar, and Sherriff fines raised $150 for the Purple Pig. In addition Terri Watkins donated the LRC winnings to the Lodge maintenance fund.

As always we thank the Wagon Masters and their assistants for a superb weekend. The Elk-Enders appreciated the Valencia RV Park management for their helpfulness in accommodating our last minute changes.
