THE REAR VIEW MIRROR
Mission Bay RV Resort San Diego, CA September 27-29, 2019
Wagon Masters: Randy & Vivian Rapp, Bill & Wanda Nyberg, Bob & Barbara Zulk

The first time Wagon Masters ensured the Elk-Enders enjoyed a fun filled weekend of games and a good time at the Mission Bay RV Resort. We were a small turnout of Elk-Enders for the weekend. Thursday 8 rigs and guest, Don & Pat Chavonek, checked in and the 9th one on Friday. Thursday was a relaxed day with people socializing and discovering the sites either by foot, riding bikes or the easy automotive way. Pat taught us a version of Mexican train dominoes and some of us stayed up till 11:00!

Friday with everyone checked in we had tables, chairs and canopies set up. The clubhouse was still under renovation so Mission Bay RV was nice enough to let us use their tables & chairs. We christened Bob Zuhlke new motorhome with champagne. Barbara offered up Bobs head instead of cracking the bottle on the RV. We opted to just pop the cork instead. We had hors d'oeuvres in the afternoon during the christening. We had a great evening potluck dinner. Janice won 1st place and LuAnn 2nd on Screw Your Neighbor. Both contributed to the Parking Lot Fund and Purple Pig. David was nice enough to bring his fire pit so socializing was done around the fire while most of the women played Mexican dominoes and Five Crowns that was introduced by Janice. The weather was perfect during the day but rained a bit on Friday night. Thanks to Bob & Barbara and other who pitched in to wipe tables & chairs down and pushed the water off that had accumulated on top of the canopies.

Our potluck surprise breakfast was wonderful with a variety of goodies to choose from. The women won Bean Bag Baseball with the score of 3-2. The 7th inning stretch didn't help the guys any. Saturday night potluck dinner was amazing again and there were plenty of desserts as well. We then played LCR which Janice won and donated some to the parking lot fund. It was a good weekend for Janice. People enjoyed the fire again while others played more games at the table with the uninvited swarms of mosquitos) and the relaxation.

Sunday breakfast consisted of 5 varieties of Danish, Hazelnut filled crepes, tangerines, Orange juice and coffee. Thank you to Bob for being the Coffee master all weekend. He was at his station bright & early with coffee in hand just waiting to socialize. The Purple Pig, Gazebo and parking lot refurbishing funds were well fed from the generosity of the winners of the two games and the sheriff's fines.

A grateful thanks to our Wagon Masters for a wonderful weekend.
